Keep reading to learn how I can help you build your online and offline businesses just like I have mine.
Let me tell you a true story.
Most people look at me right with a successful gym, over a quarter of a million Youtube followers and one of the most recognizable faces in BJJ and they just assume it was easy or it was just always this way.
But I promise you it wasn't.
See back in 2010 when I finally took the step forward, quit my 9-5 job and moved into the exciting world of doing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu coaching and gym management full time it was anything from perfect.
Let me paint a picture for you of what my life was like at the time.
I woke up in the morning on an air mattress that deflated halfway through the night. My mom was dying of cancer, my girlfriend left me and I was flat broke. And a feeling of uncertainty and despair was my daily companion.
My life around this time was like an old country western song.
Just needed something about a pickup truck in there and I’d be set.
And hey, I was teaching BJJ so it wasn’t so bad right? Well, in many cases I’d show up to class and have 0 students.
Now one of the things that grappling teaches you is that it’s not just what happens that matters. But more importantly it’s how you respond to the events that matters.
And just like losing a match or getting my techniques shut down during a roll. All of the negative things going on in my life made me take a step back and figure out what I could do to improve the issue.
BJJ is often compared to a game of problem solving. Well I took that problem solving mindset to the gym business.
And this led me to my 2nd phase of entrepreneurship and self-employment.
By 2012 I was in a weird place.
After numerous changes in the way we ran our business I was finally making an ok living and I had what most would consider to be a successful BJJ existence! I was teaching classes and private lessons all the time and watching my students grow.
But something was wrong.
I was looking around at all of the Black Belts who had gone before me and I noticed a few things.
On one hand I noticed many of the Black Belts I deeply respected were getting old and were broke financially, broken physically and burned out mentally. Many of them had poured their heart and souls into gyms. But because they knew nothing about business they weren’t able to keep their gym doors open or were just struggling to get by.
Then on the flip side there were some that I didn’t respect as much. But they were people with decent businesses. But the issue with them was that their students learned terrible martial arts. Many couldn’t compete or even cross train because they’d get smashed by other gyms . Their kids couldn’t stand up to bullies. And eventually their long-time students would leave because they felt more like dollar signs instead of members (many students came to train with me because of this situation).
So I personally had to figure out something different for our gym and for myself and my career in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Now, in 2022, my life is much differrent than it was back in 2010. Let me paint a picture for you.
I wake up for a walk around my farm, enjoy the critters running around or hang out with the horse. I come into the gym on the days I specifically want to and teach packed classes. I have a thriving online business that supports my gym business. I've even become a worldwide name in BJJ without ever winning a world championship or having a Brazilian Portuguese accent.
I have made the reality I experience one of my own choosing. This is what we all want right? To be able to choose our path in life and find a meaningful existence that also pays well?
Not bad for some random guy in Kentucky, eh?
The money and freedom also allows me to do amazing things like sponsor students for competitions, contribute to local organizations doing good works and support myself and my family without any worries.
Take it from me. Being debt free with money in the bank is a good place to be!
And with all of that said.
Many of the people I've spoken to are in similar situations. Maybe you're one of them?
You’ve got drive, passion, excitement but not a lot of know-how.
Now if you've been following me recently then you'll know I've been preparing for a special workshop course. I sent out messages to people to get a feel for where they were at and what kind of help they would need.
And when I looked at the responses, I realized many of you are in similar situations like I was in 2010.
And this put me into a similar dilemma I face as a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and MMA coach when a brand new student walks into the gym wanting to be a competitor or a fighter. There’s so much to teach!
With martial arts training I begin the process of helping students with the fundamentals and working up to the more advanced techniques. BUt it takes time. And if this new student is in a hurry and says they want to fight or compete next week. I don’t even let them sign up to the gym. I send them elsewhere because they’re not serious and they’re going to get hurt.
Similarly, if I'm going to teach someone about the way I do my businesses, it's going to take some time. It's not something you can just snag your fingers and understand. And it's not something I could pack together in one course. Trying to do that would be like sending a brand new student into a fight with a few weeks of training.
So instead, I have a different business-based program that you can join.
Just as I coach beginners up to speed inside my gym. These things take a little more time. And so, this will be a membership that will allow me to work with you for a longer period of time and deliver useful information to you monthly so that you can execute it and put it into action. The extra time, just like with my students inside the gym, will help me make you more successful. It will also allow me to help you with any roadblocks you hit along the way.
Also, because it will be an ongoing, real time, exchange between you and I. I can show you what's working right now for me.
Also, I want to make something clear about this.
While the information I'll be sharing is primarily based on my experiences with online and offline businesses related to martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
The information could be just as valuable whether your business is like mine or not. Because in the end, like the great Dan Kennedy would say a business is a business is a business.
Yes, yes an actual physical printed newsletter shipped to your door. Why ink and paper? Because I want you to sit down, pay attention, extract as much from the material as possible and put it into action. If I’m going to help you build your business to support yourself and those around you. You’re going to have to focus. Paper is much less distracting than digital content which can be swiped to the side at an impulse. I also want it to feel like Christmas every month when it arrives as you tear open the package and get to work reading and implementing.
You’ll receive video content in a membership area on my website. The video content will support what’s in the newsletter. This will include me talking ideas out further, examples of specific strategies and tactics used online or in print. I'm also planning to include interviews with friends of mine in other business (online and offline) to discuss what's working for them.
You’ll also receive direct email access to me for your questions. If you’re stuck and need some quick advice or guidance on an area I’m personally qualified to answer. Send me the question and you’ll get a personal reply back. Granted this doesn’t mean we’ll be email buddies or something. And I’m not going to do a deep dive or critique. But if you’re stuck with something I’m here to help.

This 10 part video course will literally lay out some of the most impactful lesson and ideas I've picked up in the last decade of being in business. I'll share with you some of the biggest ups and biggest downs I've experienced in the last decade, what I learned from them and line it all out for you so you can gain the hard-won wisdom and avoid costly mistakes that people make early on.
The Chewjitsu Business & Marketing Vault price is $49 per month. This includes online portion of the membership and shipping on the print newsletter is free no matter what country you live in. In the future the price will go up to $77 per month. So it's currently at a nice, nearly 40% discount for those who are willing to take action with me.
And you can cancel your membership at any time without hassle. But keep in mind there are no refunds on subscriptions.
Now, I'm not sure where you are with your business. $49 may seem like a lot to you. But my goal is to make the membership pay for itself and then some. Think about it. If you're a gym owner and you sign up just 1 new student because of the membership, how much is that worth to you? If you're someone who wants to get into the online space. How much is it worth to you to learn a path to success that's proven and could help you generate a side income or potentially replace your day job? I don't have those answers for you, but I imagine $49 is a bit of a bargain when you compare it to that.
But the reality is, the Chewjitsu Business & Marketing Vault isn’t going to be for everyone. Business owners who won’t execute ideas into their business or cheapskate people trying to build a business that think $1.63 a day is expensive need not apply. People spend more than that on coffee and god knows what else each day. So, if $1.63 is too much for your future, I don't think I can help you.
Also, the methods I teach aren’t tricks or "ninja" hacks. I’m not going to show you how to trick the system or the algorithm. It’s fruitless. Instead, I’ll teach you strategies that will enhance your skills as a business owner, coach or teacher that supports you and those you serve better. Basically, I'm going to teach you just like I teach my Brazilian Jiu-jitsu students. A focus on strong fundamentals that allow you to rapidly excel in any area you wish to go.
In a nutshell, as you grow as a person, so will your business. (At least this has been my experience.)
All of this will require you to roll up your sleeves and work hard. If hard work isn't your thing, don't even bother.
That said, if you’re motivated to change your life and if you’re ready to work hard towards a more fulfilling, profitable and exciting future. . . then join me, don't wait. Click the button below and let's get started.
I look forward to working with you.
